Volunteer Opportunities with Memphis Gay & Lesbian Community Center:

• Welcoming Committee - As a front desk volunteer, your position is vital. You are the first person a visitor sees and your warm greeting lets them know they have arrived someplace safe. You offer assistance to vistors and callers in need of resources or information about our local community. Front desk volunteers at MGLCC are like the first responders at headquarters of the Mid-South LGBTQ community.
• MGLCC Ambassadors - MGLCC representatives promote the center’s mission to the entire Mid-South by increasing our visibility with community outreach and involvement. Ambassadors are the community representatives and messengers for MGLCC.
• History Committee - Preserving and showcasing the history of MGLCC and the larger LGBTQ community is essential to honoring the past while also educating the present and future LGBTQ community. We have a rich heritage that needs to be recorded, preserved, shared and displayed.
• Beautification Committee - Our Center reflects our community and its values. We need to look our best. People who are more skilled with their hands may be interested with helping maintain the outside and inside features of the center. Whether your preference is lawn work, vigorous cleaning, or more labor intensive work, MGLCC needs people to help the center look its best inside and out.
• Special Events - We always need help with the special events, both large and small. From the Outflix Film Festival to working the booth at Pride or the Cooper Young Festival, we need energetic, friendly volunteers to help us share what is special about MGLCC!
