MGLCC's $10 for 2010 Campaign

Just $10 to change a life?  Think it's worth it?

We recently received a $50,000 grant from an anonymous donor to expand our youth services.  It's an amazingly generous gift!  Seems like this donor believes in and wants to support the work we're doing at MGLCC.  Let's show this generous donor that the rest of us can match that generosity.  All it takes is a $10 donation.  Don't believe it?!  Read below.  Find out how a simple $10 can shout out to the world that the Mid-South takes care of its LGBTQ neighbors.  Help support the life-changing services and programs that MGLCC provides.  And let's show our generous donor that we're all in this together!

Listen to our ad from KIM-FM 98.9!

The Concept

We estimate that there are 45,000 LGBT adults living in Shelby County. What
would happen if we all banded together in a common cause to save a queer teen’s
life? How much is it worth to help a transgender woman find respectful and
affordable health care? What sort of community could we build if each LGBT
person in the Mid-South and all of our straight allies gave just $10 to fund MGLCC's life-saving programs

The Challenge

The Board of Directors of MGLCC is
offering you a unique opportunity. You
can help save someone’s life by donating
$10. That’s it! We’re asking for just $10
to help save a lesbian teen from suicide or
help a bisexual man get tested for HIV or
help a homeless queer teen find a place to
live. How often can you do so much for
so little? We would love to get all 45,000
people to donate, but we’ve set a goal of
$25,000. Our challenge to each person in
our community is to give $10 and to ask
your friends to do the same. Just$10 to save a life.  Think it's worth it?

How It Works

Copy this sheet 10 times (or more if you
like) and give one to each of your friends.
Then, fill out the bottom portion of this
sheet and bring or mail (892 S. Cooper;
Memphis, TN 38104) it to the center
with a check or credit card information
for $10. Watch the MGLCC website as
we climb closer to our $25,000 goal. We
will post a list on our website of everyone
who believes that giving $10 to save a life
is a good bargain. If you wish to remain
anonymous, simply add that to the message/comment field.

Don’t forget to pass this on and to keep
the momentum going!!!

Thank you to all the supporters of the work we do at Memphis Gay & Lesbian Community Center.
