Stories of MGLCC Stories of MGLCC20-Dec-2011
Since 1989, MGLCC has been a safe haven for the LGBTQ community of the Mid-South. Our programs and services provide assistance to a growing number of Memphians in crisis and offer safe space to build a better community.Black and white; young and older; straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and everyone in between. What binds us together is a shared experience of what it means to love and to express differently than the majority of people around us. In the South, that can sometimes cause hardship and pain for us or our friends or family.MGLCC exists to help ease some of that pain and hardship. The assistance takes many forms: social activities that bring people together for fellowship and support; services and programs that offer resources and ways to enrich our lives; youth services that offer not only a hope that "it gets better" but ways to "make it better"; and out and proud representation in the media and in the community at large.Every day, people come to MGLCC looking for assistance, resources, community and support. We created this video to share just a small number of those stories.Thank you for your continuing support! Every donation makes a difference in the life of someone in need.
