Do you know five words that can change a life? 
 
How about a hint - Memphis Gay & Lesbian Community Center.  
 
Throughout the days and weeks of each month diverse groups of people gather at the building on Cooper for activities, support, social interaction, education, and more. We know from listening to people share their stories that having a place to go where they are welcome and can find like-minded people has indeed made a life or death difference. Being at the center, meeting others, and realizing that there is a place to belong can break a profound sense of isolation and loneliness that often accompanies being LGBTQ. For some, walking in the door for the first time marked a turning point in their life. 
 
I am proud that MGLCC has been able to help so many people in so many ways simply by being the community's center. We are the only LGBTQ community center in the Mid-South.
